Research of mathematical concepts in Neolithic
Ceramics is the most authentic category of objects in Neolithic of which various objects were made: vessels, figurines, house models, altars and other artifacts with different purposes. The research of these objects’ category so far provided specific properties concerning form and typological characteristics. Namely, we are talking about tangible protomathematical tendency – geometrical proportionality which is noted in large number of the aforementioned objects.
In addition, specific metrological concepts were also attested in some artifacts that suggest use and practice of a metrical system. With this research, the high intellect of the Neolithic man is once more proved especially from the aspect of protomathematics or ethnomathematics (mathematical discipline which deals with occurrence of mathematics within illiterate communities).
